Ruto blames Raila for disruptions at his Jacaranda rally
By George Brian, January 16, 2022Deputy President William Ruto is now pointing figures at Orange Democratic Movement party leader Raila Odinga for the chaos that erupted at his rally at the Jacaranda Grounds in Embakasi East, Nairobi County.
While addressing the crowd at the rally, DP Ruto claimed that the former Prime Minister is known for hiring goons to disrupt his opponent’s rallies and must have been behind the violence witnessed at his Sunday afternoon rally.
While alleging that it is Raila who was also behind his attack in Kisumu last year, Ruto challenged the ODM boss to stop using unemployed youths to mete violence on his competitors.
“Shame on you bwana kitendawili for hiring youths to come and stone people here,” Ruto said.
“You planned violence in Kondele, you have come here again in Embakasi to mobilize youths to stone us,” he added.
Ruto further noted that he will not be intimidated by Raila as well as allow him to instill fear among Kenyans.
He said unlike Raila who uses the youths to disrupt his meetings, he will create jobs for them once the clinches power in August this year.
“I want to tell you Raila, these youths you are misusing to stone people will only be available for six months from now. After that, they will be sorted with better things to do that will change their lives for the better,” Ruto said.
The second-in-command also advised the youths against being used by political leaders during the electioneering period to mete violence on other Kenyans.
“Don’t accept to be used to throw stones. Tell that person to use his family members to go and throw stones,” he asserted.
