Worth noting, the by-election follows the death of the Member of Parliament for Ol Kalou constituency, the late David Njuguna Kiaraho, who was a member of Jubilee Party.

UDA and DCP aspirant

United Democratic Alliance (UDA) aspirants have vowed to reclaim the parliamentary seat and dethrone their opponents in the upcoming by-election.

Speaking after a consultative meeting held in Nakuru Town, the six aspirants – Bishop Joseph Ndirangu, Kimani Mwangi, Ndung’u Wangenye, Joseph Chuchu, Stanely Kiama, and Peter Mugo – all eyeing the Member of Parliament seat said they will work together and eventually agree on one flag bearer ahead of the July 2026 by-election.

Former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua has stated that all parties within the united opposition will be allowed to field candidates in the upcoming by-election and that there is no need for a single-party arrangement.

He noted that they have now decided to have what he termed a “friendly fire” within the united opposition, where each party is free to face the other.
