ICT Cabinet Secretary (CS) Eliud Owalo has called on Homa Bay residents to join the Kenya Kwanza government.

Speaking during interior PS Raymond Omollo’s homecoming ceremony held at Oriwo Boys secondary school in Homa Bay county on Saturday, July 15, 2023, Owalo noted that it was ‘high time’ citizens within the region shift their political allegiance and join President William Ruto’s administration.

Owalo also implored citizens in the region to create an enabling environment for Ruto’s administration so that it is able to discharge its duties effectively adding that the residents should either join the government or the government is brought to them.

“To the people of this region my appeal is that we have got a President who is forthright, God-fearing, and means well for this community, let’s create an enabling environment for the Kenya Kwanza government to deliver on its mandate. We have done politics built around tribes, and individuals for far too long and we cannot continue with that. It is now a turning point in our lives, we must change the paradigm for the better,” he stated.

“We are appealing to you to work with us and join the government safari hii hakuna kuponyoka, either you join the government or we bring the government to you, ” the CS added.

He also assured President William Ruto of immense support in pursuit of his bottom-up economic agenda.

Owalo, while reiterating his support to the President, noted that the region will finally have a sense of belonging having been on the opposition for far too long.

“It is my commitment to work in pursuit of your because the people of this region have been in the economic wilderness and for the first time since independence we have gotten a government where we have got a sense of belonging.

“Mine is to say that we will not let you down. We will appeal to our people to work with you as you endeavour to deliver on the mandate bestowed upon you by Kenyans,” the CS added.
