Former Deputy Chief of Staff Eliud Owalo has expressed deep concern over reports that former Cabinet Secretary and politician Raphael Tuju went missing on the evening of March 21, 2026.

Taking to his official social media accounts on Sunday, March 22, 2026, Owalo urged the National Police Service to take urgent and coordinated action.

The 2027 presidential hopeful called on the Inspector General of Police to ensure all relevant police formations and investigative agencies commence a thorough and expedited investigation into Tuju’s disappearance.

“I am deeply concerned by reports that Hon. Raphael Tuju went missing yesterday evening. I respectfully call upon the Inspector General of the National Police Service to urgently direct all relevant police formations and investigative agencies to commence speedy, thorough, and coordinated investigations into this matter, and urgently update the Kenyan public on the same,” Owalo stated.

He stressed the need for timely updates to the public and for the family to be kept fully informed.

“Under the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, and the National Police Service Act, the State has a duty to protect life, liberty, and security of every person, and to investigate any incident that may threaten those rights. In that regard, I urge the National Police Service to act with the utmost urgency, keep the family appropriately informed, and take all lawful steps necessary to establish Hon. Tuju’s whereabouts and ensure his safety,” he said.

He called on Kenyans to keep Tuju in their prayers, describing him as a leader who has faced numerous challenges in recent times.

Nataka niwajulishe, ndugu yetu Tuju ametekwa nyara. Gari yake imeachwa mahali, na vifunguo za gari ziko pale pale. Tumuombee Tuju kwa sababu amepitia matatizo mingi sana,” Orengo said.
