Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has hit back at United Democratic Alliance (UDA) secretary-general Cleophas Malala over what the party official said is indiscipline.

Sudi, Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen and his Public Service counterpart Moses Kuria, Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba, and Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga are UDA's members who found themselves warned by Malala.

Sudi fires back

In his response, Sudi said Malala is an elevated  Member of the County Assembly (MCA) and likened him to former Jubilee Party's Raphael Tuju.

"Elevated MCA suffering from illusory superiority, thinking he matches Raphael Tuju's calibre," Sudi said in a statement on X.

Malala addressed the party members over what he called blatant disrespect to the party hierarchy and said such behaviours are not acceptable.

"I have been deeply concerned by reports of indiscipline amongst a section of elected leaders within our party. UDA. My attention has been drawn to the fact that certain individuals continue to show blatant disrespect to the party leadership. including the Presidency. This behaviour is unacceptable and will not be tolerated within the realms of our Party," Malala's statement read in part.

"I specifically address recent public sentiments and actions of Githunguri Member of Parliament. Gathoni Wa Muchomba. Kapseret Member of Parliament. Oscar Sudi and Nyeri Governor, Mutahi Kahiga. Your recent conduct not only undermines the party's unity but also disrespects the leadership that you pledged to serve."

Sudi has been at loggerheads with Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua especially after the latter made a weekend trip to Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County.

Gachagua's utterances during a public function irked Sudi who reacted by saying he cannot be threatened.

Malala's warning

After those reactions, Malala has now asked the politicians within the Kazi ni Kazi party to desist from attacking themselves.

"Let this be a stern warning: desist from such actions with immediate effect. Should this behaviour persist, the party will take disciplinary action against you," Malala said..

"Any form of indiscipline will not be tolerated within the ranks of the UDA party. We must uphold the values and principles that guide our party to ensure we deliver on our promises to the Kenyan people."

The former nominated senator also warned of activities that are geared towards the 2032 elections.

"Furthermore, I urge the young politicians within the UDA who have prematurely begun their campaigns for 2032 to halt these activities. Your current mandate is to serve your constituents.

"Early campaigning not only distracts from your responsibilities but also disrespects the trust placed in you by the electorate. Should you continue with these premature campaigns, the party will take stern disciplinary action against you," he concluded.
