ORPP opens 7-day window for public objections to four new political parties

The Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) has opened a seven-day window for public objections as four new political parties seek provisional registration.

According to the notice published on MyGov on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, the parties, including the National Forum Party, Clean Alliance Party of Kenya, New Face Party of Kenya and Mwongozo Mpya Party, aim to participate in Kenya’s political landscape once their registration is confirmed.

“Any objections may be presented from the date of publication of this notice in writing or in person within seven (7) days,” the notice read.

According to ORPP Registrar John Lorionokou, the National Forum Party (NFP), founded by James Munene Thuku, Elizaphan Mwangi Kamau and Chiboli Clare Muhele, has proposed the colours green, black and red, with an aspire mark as its party symbol. The party’s slogan is Tuko One, Tuko True.

The Clean Alliance Party of Kenya (CAP-K) has chosen green, white, yellow and dark blue as its colours, with a sweeping brush as its symbol.

Its slogans are Kenya Sauti ya, and Haki, and its founding members are Margaret Nekesa Barasa, Andrew Kimani Kamau and Ezekiel Nyameino Bosire.

The New Face Party of Kenya (Face) has proposed brown, black and white as its colours, with a Bluetooth symbol. Its slogans are Sauti ya Mwananchi, Nguzo ya Taifa, and its founding members are Delvine Moraa John, Anguche Elvis Kongoti and Tarasila Kawiria M’Liburu.

The Mwongozo Mpya Party (MMP) has listed olive green, burnt orange and black as its colours, with a phoenix as its symbol. Its slogans are MWONGOZO MPYA and Sote Pamoja, and its founding members are Macharia Njeru, Fatuma Ali Saman, Vincent Kibet Kiptoo, Annabel Njoki Mwangi, Hellen Keis and Steve Owuor Odera.

The ORPP, established under Section 33 of the Political Parties Act, Cap. 7D (PPA) is a State office under Article 260 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.

Its mandate is to register and regulate political parties and administer the Political Parties Fund.
