OKA leaders vow to soldier on
By Brian Malila, January 31, 2022The One Kenya Alliance (OKA) said yesterday it would soldier on even after two of its key members exited the group.
Speaking in Kirinyaga county, OKA leaders said the team remains strong and focused to clinch power in this year’s General Election.
Led by Wiper Party’s Kalonzo Musyoka the OKA chiefs urged Kenyans not to be lured and confused to elect in office persons who lack integrity and have records of misuse of public resources.
Kalonzo said Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi and his Ford Kenya counterpart Moses Wetang’ula moved out of the One Kenya Alliance at night and joined the Hustlers camp.
“I want to say OKA is very strong even after our two brothers moved out. We will move forward,” said Kalonzo.
The former vice-president also asserted that they will be looking at like-minded partners to work with them to emerge victoriously.
Kalonzo said it’s only in OKA where Kenyans are assured of the security of their resources. “We need to ask ourselves how safe we are before going to the election.”
His sentiments were echoed by Kanu chairman Gideon Moi who urged the electorate to blacklist corrupt leaders in the next election.
“Let’s be on the lookout on the leaders who are telling us to elect them, don’t play casino with your own life when a person steals a thousand shilling then give it back to you who is stupid?” asked Moi.
OKA chosen leader
He said the honourable thing that locals should do on August 9 is to come out in large numbers and elect a leader who will be chosen by OKA to form the next government.
Cyrus Jirongo urged Mt Kenya residents not to accept to be taken to a side that cannot form the government because this may subject them to poverty.
He said the mountain should be boosting with the biggest chunk of votes it has and remain firm because they are the leading region in KRA tax collection.
Martha Karua said OKA is firm and unshakable. Other leaders who accompanied the OKA principal are Machakos senator Agnes Kavindu, Kathiani MP) Robert Mbui (Kathiani MP), Julius Mawathe (Embakasi South), Edith Nyenze (Kitui West) and Machakos women representative Kamene Kasimbi.
