ODM announces new nomination dates for Kilifi, Mombasa counties

The National Elections Board of the Orange Democratic Party has announced new dates for party primaries in counties where the conduct of the process was deferred.

“The National Elections Board had deferred the conduct of party primaries for Kilifi and Mombasa counties originally scheduled for Monday 4th and 5th April 2022 respectively. We wish to announce that these will now take place on Friday (8th April 2022) and Saturday 9th April 2022 in Kilifi and Mombasa respectively,” the party’s statement read in part.

The Orange party also averred that primaries in two wards in Turkana will be conducted on Saturday, April 9, 2022, as earlier scheduled.

In the statement undersigned against the name of the party’s NEB chair Catherine Mumma, the party confirmed to its members that the process of consensus-building with respect to the positions of Governor, Senator and Woman representative and MPs for Kilifi and Mombasa counties is progressing well and that the conclusions will be communicated in due course.

The party also announced that party primaries in Bungoma and Trans Nzoia will not be held on the 8th of April 2022 as they finalise consultations in the aforesaid two counties.
