Oburu: Ruto accepted invitation to attend ODM Party NDC
By David Nthua, November 3, 2025Siaya Senator Oburu Odinga has reported that President William Ruto could be among the guests at the upcoming National Delegates Conference (NDC) of the Orange Democratic Movement Party.
Oburu, speaking on Sunday, November 2, 2025, said that prior to the sudden death of Raila Odinga, President Ruto had confirmed his attendance at the ODM Party NDC.

Ruto had confirmed attendance
“The ODM Party NDC was postponed because the boss was sick, but now it has been rescheduled to happen in Mombasa on the 14th, 15th and 16th of this month, November. There is a committee chaired by Junet Mohamed, which is doing the organisation. It is continuing very well and everything is moving as planned,” Oburu said.
He added that most of the invited leaders are expected to attend, noting that only former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka had indicated that he would not be present.

“As a founding member, he was invited. Even President William Ruto, who was invited, had accepted to come. The event will be graced by the national governing council,” the senator stated.
Oburu’s comments confirm that ODM is moving forward with preparations for the NDC, which is expected to bring together party delegates and leaders from across the country.
The event, now set for mid-November in Mombasa, aims to consolidate party structures and discuss strategic plans ahead of the 2027 General Election.
The attendance of both ruling and opposition figures is seen as a sign of the political significance of the gathering.

Oburu highlighted that the organisational committee is working efficiently to ensure that the conference runs smoothly, reinforcing the party’s commitment to inclusivity and proper planning despite recent leadership challenges.
President Ruto’s acceptance of the invitation underscores the cross-party engagement and dialogue expected at the NDC, providing an opportunity for political leaders to interact with ODM delegates in a structured setting.
