Nyong’o lists achievements as governor

Kisumu County Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o yesterday re-launched his manifesto, outlining the achievements he has made and what he plans to do if re-elected.

Nyong’o took stock of what his administration had done in the last five years and used his scorecard achievements to ask for another term in office. “My vision for Kisumu is a prosperous county where every citizen enjoys a decent life and holds the hope of a bright to come,” he said.

He claimed that when he took office in 2017, he found a county in tatters despite Kisumu being the third largest city. “The city was dirty with uncollected garbage. The Kachock Dumpsite had become a stinking and a nauseating mountain of garbage,” he claimed.

“This posed a serious health hazard and was a monumental shame to the intermediary city as it distracted investors. We have fixed it now,” governor added.

He also said the city management worked hard to clean up the city and remove that ‘taka taka’, (mound of solid waste) at Kachok.
