Ndegwa Njiru tips Kalonzo to win 2027 presidency

By , January 3, 2026

Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, Ndegwa Njiru, has tipped the Wiper Patriotic Front Party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka, to win the 2027 presidential election and succeed the incumbent, William Ruto.

Taking to X on Saturday, January 3, 2026, Njiru reacted to the joint continental duties by retired President Uhuru Kenyatta and the former Vice President at the concluded Future Africa Leaders Awards at Omnia Towers in Lagos, Nigeria.

Uhuru Kenyatta and Kalonzo Musyoka have held an interactive session with winners and alumni of FALA after attending the award ceremony on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, where they encouraged young Africans to embrace purpose, resilience, and faith in their leadership journeys.

Based on the Nigerian trip, Ndegwa Njiru has predicted that a ‘king waiting for coronation’ does not seek attention, hinting at Kalonzo being best suited to win the next presidential polls, signaling a new twist in the United Opposition.

Coronation time

”A king awaiting coronation does not beg for attention; the moment arrives whether his rivals accept it or not. Someone tell Mr ONE-TERM that reality does not need permission, and history does not wait for those stuck in self-deception,” Njiru wrote.

Ndegwa Njiru’s remarks come shortly after Wiper Patriotic Front leader has formally declared his bid for the presidency, unveiling a sweeping reform agenda that he says will rescue Kenya from economic hardship, corruption, and democratic backsliding.

In his end-of-year message to the nation on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, Kalonzo positioned the United Opposition as a “Government-in-Waiting” and confirmed that he will be on the ballot in the 2027 General Election, pledging integrity-driven leadership anchored on constitutionalism, economic justice, and the protection of fundamental rights.

“My fellow Kenyans, I want to be very clear this afternoon. The United Opposition is not just a coalition. It is your Government-in-Waiting. We are united not by personal ambition, but by shared values: respect for the Constitution, economic justice, integrity in public office, and the protection of fundamental rights,” Kalonzo stated.
