Muturi attacks opponents over dishonesty

National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi yesterday took his presidential campaigns to Nyamira county where he accused his competitors of dishonesty.

Muturi accused some aspirants of labelling their opponents as corrupt to earn cheap political mileage.

“I have heard some leaders labelling others as thieves because they have parted ways politically. When they were in the same party, they were praising them but after differing with them politically they start abusing and labelling them as thieves,” he said. “How can you call others thieves when you are dining with people who were involved in scandals such as Kemsa.”

The speaker asked Kenyans to thoroughly vet all those seeking the presidency and vote for a candidate who can unite and develop the country. He said that most of his rivals were liars and cannot be trusted with the country’s top seat. Muturi who has said he will contest the seat on a DP ticket said that he was ready to form political coalitions with other political parties .

“I will consult with party members right from the grassroots to the national level before joining any political coalition,” he said.

He was speaking during the burial of elder Benson Nyasimi, a brother to Borabu MP Ben Momanyi.
