Muriithi now wants Ruto to explain why he did not support Uhuru, Raila handshake
Laikipia Governor Ndiritu Muriithi has challenged Deputy President William Ruto to tell Kenyans why he did not support the handshake between Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Muriithi, who is also the Chairman of Raila Presidential Campaign, says Ruto has been fighting the handshake without revealing his reasons.
The governor said a lot of development has been achieved during the handshake period while the DP has nothing to show for the 10 years he has been the second-in-command in Kenya.

Speaking during a campaign rally in Nyahururu town on Sunday, the governor said Ruto failed to fulfill promises he made to Kenyans while campaigning in 2017.
“We are telling them sorry we cannot listen to you again after you lied to us. Where are the stadia and health facilities he promised?” Muriithi posed.
Ruto addressed a rally at the same venue last week and blamed the handshake for the government’s failure to deliver on promises it made to Kenyans.
The governor, however, said he has been able to deliver on all promises he made to the Laikipia people during the 2017 campaign.

Muriithi said Nyahururu County Hospital will have 10-bed dialysis and CT Scan facilities in the next two months.
Muriithi’s deputy John Mwaniki, who is seeking to be the next Laikipia senator, said he is best suited for the seat.
“I am the best since Laikipia needs a senator who will be able to face the best brains from other counties,” Mwaniki, who is vying on a Jubilee ticket, said.
