Kajiado South MP Katoo Ole Metito has clinched the Kajiado UDA gubernatorial ticket after garnering 72,629 votes trouncing his closest challenger Kajiado East MP Peris Tobiko who managed 26,002 votes in the nominations said to have been marred with massive irregularities.

Samuel Seki secured the senatorial ticket garnering 44,670 votes triumphing three other aspirants.

Leah Sopiato Sankaire got the Woman representative ticket clinching 41,566 votes beating incumbent Janet Teiyiaa who managed to get 39,212 votes.

The vote tallying exercise was marred with anxiety and outcry over alleged massive rigging amid delays.

The results whose official announcement commenced at 7:33 pm Friday turned to a shouting match by protesting aspirants who termed the election as a sham.

The county returning officer Paul Mugo defied the noise and confusion reading the woman representative, senate and governor results.

A standoff ensued soon after Mugo announced the woman representative results attracting protest from incumbent woman MP Janet Teyiaa and her supporters.

The exercise was however successfully concluded in an hour’s time.
