Kalonzo ally allays fears of Wiper leaders joining Kenya Kwanza

Mavoko MP Patrick Makau has said Kenyans should not fear that all elected leaders will defect to Kenya Kwanza leaving the country without any opposition.

Makau instead says leaders elected on the Wiper ticket will form a very strong opposition that will keep the government of the day in check.

Addressing residents of Athi River on Saturday afternoon, Makau said the big winners of this year’s polls are Kenyans as they expressed maturity in politics by observing utmost peace and cohesion.

Makau said as Azimio allied leaders, they are ready to work with president-elect William Ruto without defecting to Kenya Kwanza.

“Some experiences in politics are humbling. We were in a friendly match in which we as Azimio lost terribly, we have to forge forward united as Kenyans have been and we will have to work with Ruto. I also want to assure Kenyans that as Wiper leaders we will be a very strong opposition,” Makau said.

Makau further said that Raila Odinga stood a chance of winning if he had picked Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka as his running mate.

“Every Kenyan now knows that Kalonzo is not a joker. He delivered votes for Azimio and proved to be the Ukambani kingpin. Kalonzo was the best bit to give the Azimio coalition victory,” he added.

Makau a close ally of Kalonzo has been elected for his third term with 85 percent of votes cast after shelving his gubernatorial ambitions to support Wavinya Ndeti.
