Morara opens up about emotional struggles during presidential bid
Political activist and former presidential aspirant Morara Kebaso has opened up about the emotional struggles he faced during his attempt to vie for the presidency, revealing the deep scars left behind by online trolls.
In a heartfelt reflection shared on his official X account on Thursday, October 2, 2025, Kebaso said he was subjected to insults and ridicule from people who did not even know him personally but were quick to attack his intentions and character.
“If you know you trolled me when I was trying to make a change in this country, you caused me an immeasurable amount of pain and dragged my reputation and integrity through the sewer line,” he said.

Kebaso noted that the attacks not only targeted his political ambitions but also affected his personal integrity. He explained that many dismissed him harshly without giving him a chance to prove the kind of leader he could have been.
“You insulted me with confidence, yet you don’t know me in person to testify on what type of man I am,” he added.
The former aspirant admitted that he has not fully healed from the experience, pointing to the heavy emotional burden that came with the public trolling. He, however, expressed determination to move forward and heal with time.
“I haven’t healed. But I will,” he wrote, showing resilience despite the pain.

Kebaso further warned that the consequences of the public dismissing his ideas and derailing his political journey may come back to haunt the same people who mocked him.
“And the consequences of my failure to make that change will be more painful on you than on me,” he stated.
His remarks paint a picture of the often-overlooked emotional toll that politics can have on leaders, especially those who step into the arena with the desire to make a difference but find themselves ridiculed instead.
Kebaso’s message is a reminder of the harsh culture of trolling and the damage trolls cause to those in public service. His words serve as a reminder that behind every political ambition lies a human being, one who feels, hurts, and struggles just like everyone else.
