Let’s face off at delegates meet, Murathe dares Kega

Jubilee Party vice chairman David Murathe has dared rebel party officials to vie for positions at the National Delegates Convention (NDC) which the party intends to host later this month.

Murathe said the Kanini Kega-led faction should stop imposing themselves as substantive officials and participate in the NDC.

The vice chairman maintained the Jeremiah Kioni faction, which enjoys the support of retired President Uhuru Kenyatta, is the bona fide leadership.

“You are aware that the courts nullified the letter from Registrar of Political Parties seeking to oust us from the party after the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal upheld resolutions of the National Executive Committee. So the letter was of no consequential effect,” Murathe (pictured) said.

He told Kenya Kwanza to stop interfering with the internal affairs of other parties and instead focus on delivering the promises it made to Kenyans during their election campaigns.

“Don’t be fooled, this fight is not between Kioni and Kega. A person who is now in authority has a vested interest and wants revenge because we chased him out of Jubilee. He would better stop behaving like we are in the campaign trail and show Kenyans what he can do,” he said.

Kioni said the NDC will go on as planned despite a notice placed in newspapers by Kega saying he is the acting secretary general and had suspended the NDC.

“The NDC as notified by our party leader will be held on May 22 and 23 at Bomas of Kenya. Ignore anything else you see anywhere including in the media,” said Murathe.
