Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire has criticised Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, stating that Embu county will not support his political direction.

Speaking at a fundraiser at Karurumo Catholic Church, Mbarire highlighted the significant benefits Embu has received under President William Ruto’s administration, emphasizing that there is no reason for the county to abandon the president.

She underscored the progress made in Embu, citing the construction of a new stadium, the establishment of modern markets valued at billions, and various water projects on pipeline as key achievements.

“We have seen great progress since President Ruto took office. It would be foolish for me to oppose him now,” she declared, reinforcing her commitment to supporting the president’s agenda.

While Mbarire expressed respect for Gachagua, she was critical of his current political strategy saying it was unfounded. “The route the deputy president is taking is not good, and we will reject it in totality,” she stated.

Mbarire who is the chairperson of the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party called on Gachagua to resolve any issues with Ruto privately, rather than involving the public. “Sort out any issues you have and do not bring your issues to the people,as Embu people we will not board your bus,” she advised.
