Kisii County Senate aspirant Ken Omanga wants the counties to formulate employment policies to accommodate locals and other Kenyans resident in the region.
Omanga, vying on a Kanu ticket, said governors employ staff unfairly due to lack of policies thus disadvantaging Kenyans from other areas residing in the counties.
“We want just, fair and effectives laws to ensure that counties employ people from various clans and those from other counties,” Omanga, a son of former larger Nyaribari constituency MP and cabinet minister Andrew Omanga, told People Daily in Kisii town yesterday.
He appealed to senators to campaign alone so that, if elected, they can oversight and hold governors accountable in the usage of public funds to foster transparency and accountability.
The aspirant said he is campaigning alone and urged the electorate to elect a visionary and development conscious governor who would initiate development projects to benefit the residents.
“I cannot campaign with any governorship aspirant. I will audit the governor and I will not like him or her to spoil my oversight work” Omanga said.
