Kindiki woos Mbeere North opposition candidate Newton Karish with a job offer

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has promised to find Democratic Party candidate in the Mbeere North by-election, Newton Karish, an alternative job, acknowledging that the Member of Parliament (MP) position he seeks is not suitable for him.

Speaking during a campaign rally in Mbeere North on Monday, November 24, 2025, Kindiki vowed to extend an olive branch to their opponents’ candidates in Mbeere, emphasising that they remain their sons and brothers who have been misled by politicians.

“Hata uyo Karish ni mtoto wetu. Ile kazi hawezi ni hii ya ubunge. Ikiwa watashindwa, mniletee niko kwa ofisi ntawatafutia kazi.”

He blamed the opposition politicians for sowing divisions and animosity between the brothers of Mbeere North for political gains.

‘Hao wote ni ndugu zetu; ni kupotezwa tu wanapotezwa na wanasiasa. Ile tunasema hatoshi ubunge lakini hiyo kazi ingine tutamtafutia msiwe na wasiwasi,” he assured the residents

Kindiki implored the residents to peacefully undertake their democratic rights on Thursday, November 27, 2025, cautioning against carrying the heated animosity from the political duels beyond the by-election date.

He exuded optimism that the region would remain peaceful after the elections.

Kindiki’s proposal comes after the aspirant vowed to stay put with his bid and shame the government by clinching the seat amid claims of state-sponsored attacks.

The former Benga musician, who faces strong opposition from UDA’s Leo Wamuthende, remained bullish about overcoming the challenges and clinching the seat.

United Opposition’s firstborn

“Very soon I will be the firstborn of the United Opposition. The government is determined to stop us, but we are determined to last to the end and win his elections,” he declared.

Meanwhile, while on a campaign trail earlier, Justin Muturi Muturi praised Karish’s discipline, composure and deep connection with locals, arguing that the traits position him as the transformative leader the community has long awaited.

“Our candidate, Hon. Newton Kariuki continues to demonstrate the discipline, courage, and clarity required to move Mbeere North forward.

“His connection with the people is undeniable, and the warm reception he received today is a clear sign that the ground has already shifted,” Muturi said.
