Kenya Kwanza team is not negotiating in good faith at all – Orengo

Siaya Governor James Orengo has cautioned that the Kenya Kwanza team might be playing games with Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance following the proposed bipartisan dialogue.

Speaking in Siaya on Thursday during the groundbreaking ceremony of the Siriwo rice mill project in Usonga ward, Orengo noted that Azimio has a good team that could achieve its objectives if the concrete agenda on the table are to be discussed.

“I believe that time has come within this week for President Ruto and Kenya Kwanza to come clear on these issues that have been put on the table. I think we have a good team, they are a sober-minded team and I do not think they will play sideshows if the concrete agenda on the table will be the ones which we are going to discuss with his side opposite,” Orengo said.

The Siaya governor, however, cautioned that the Kenya Kwanza team might be playing games with Azimio.

He claimed that the Kenya Kwanza team doesn’t have a sincere intention towards the talks instead they may be taking Azimio for a ride.

“If I truly speak from the bottom of my heart, the Kenya Kwanza team they do not have any good faith at all. They have no good faith at all. They may be taking us for a ride,” Orengo said.

The Siaya governor further hailed Azimio leader Raila Odinga for resorting to going back to the people even as the dialogue continues.

“And these measures that have been taken by Raila Amolo Odinga to go back to the people beginning today and having a Kamkunji on Sunday will be a reminder that they cannot take us for granted and they cannot take Kenyans for a ride,” Orengo said.

Demos are back

Azimio announced that the weekly anti-government demonstrations will resume after Ramadhan.

Speaking during the Azimio coalition town hall meeting held in Ufungamano House on Thursday, April 13, Raila claimed that the decision was made after a consultative meeting with other leaders allied to the coalition due to a lack of seriousness from the government regarding proposed bipartisan talks.

The opposition leader asserted that the demonstrations will resume as the dialogue with the government continues, he also assured supporters that the coalition will announce dates for the demos.

“Nothing stops dialogue out of parliament, the dialogue shall continue as we continue with the demonstrations, we are waiting for Ramadhan to come to an end and we shall announce the dates for the demos,” Raila stated.

“We have listened to you in these forums that we should continue with dialogue even as we stage demonstrations. We will continue with demonstrations and we will announce when the protest will be held after the Ramadhan period,” he added.
