Kalonzo tables conditions to work with Raila

By , March 1, 2022

Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has outlined negotiation terms with ODM leader Raila Odinga saying he is ready to work with him under the three pillar grand coalition government.

Kalonzo says he now wants Raila to honour their 2017 pre-election deal signed on April 30, 2017.

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, March 1, Kalonzo urged Raila to engage in fresh negotiations structured on their previous terms in their 2017 NASA document.

“I am ready to work with Raila again. I urge that we engage in fresh negotiations, this document (2017 MOU) forms the basis of such negotiations,” Kalonzo said.

The MOU states: “In the articles of agreement, principal H(Raila Odinga) agrees in a public MOU to serve one term and publicly endorse principal Q(Kalonzo Musyoka) as a Presidential candidate for 2022.

Kalonzo however holds an opinion that Raila has already breached their agreement following his nomination as the ODM flag bearer in the August 9 polls.

“By accepting the nomination of ODM to run as president for the 5th time, I believe Raila Odinga has committed an irreparable material breach of this agreement,” he stated.
