Wiper Patriotic Front Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has dismissed reports that his party has struck a secret deal to surrender all Nairobi seats to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP), calling the reports cheap propaganda meant to divide the Opposition.

Kalonzo spoke on Sunday, November 30, 2025, during a thanksgiving service in Machakos County, where he told worshippers that the rumours spreading on social media and in sections of the press were only meant to create tension between him and the former deputy president.

The Wiper leader said those pushing the narrative were determined to break the unity recently demonstrated by Opposition chiefs during last week’s by-elections.

In his remarks, the Wiper boss insisted that he would not be dragged into political schemes aimed at creating bad blood within the growing alliance.

“Watu waache hii propaganda wanasema ati Wiper imeachia DCP viti vyote Nairobi, you know they have to try everything wagonganishe Kalonzo na Rigathi Gachagua, that will not happen,” he said.

Kalonzo told the congregation that he had also taken note of media reports claiming that the government was quietly assembling a 2027 coalition to challenge the united Opposition.

Nimeona kwa magazeti ati serikali inatengeneza coalition ya 2027, kwanza watapasukia katikati, it will not work,” he stated.

The Wiper leader said the Opposition would continue strengthening its networks across the country and would not be distracted by attempts to push a false narrative of friction within its ranks.

He added that the reports about Nairobi seats were not only misleading but also intended to undermine public trust and create unnecessary suspicion among Opposition supporters in the capital.

Kalonzo told the faithful that the unity witnessed among Opposition leaders during the recently concluded by-elections had unsettled government operatives, who were now resorting to misinformation.

He urged supporters to ignore the rumours, assuring them that decisions about Nairobi politics would be made openly and through consultation, not through backroom arrangements.

Kalonzo further used the church event to call for peace, unity and truthfulness as the country moves closer to the 2027 polls, saying Kenyans deserve politics driven by honesty and service rather than division.

He emphasised that the Opposition remains focused on offering alternative leadership and protecting democratic space, despite growing attempts to discredit its internal cohesion.
