Jubilee party refutes reports on court nullifying Uhuru’s NDC

The Jubilee Party has refuted reports that the Political Parties Dispute Tribunal (PPDT) has declared the May National Delegates Convention led by former President Uhuru Kenyatta is null and void.
In a statement, the party claimed the PPDT ruled that it does have the jurisdiction to hear or rule on the case.
“The Political Parties Dispute Tribunal majority merely ruled that the tribunal did not have the jurisdiction to hear or rule on this case,” the statement read in part.
“We urge media houses to be more diligent and interrogate facts before rushing to publish.”
Ruling on Jubilee Party conflict
In August, the High Court issued an order reinstating embattled Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni, Vice Chair David Murathe and Treasurer Kagwe Gichohi.
Lady Justice Asenath Ongeri, in a ruling dated August 7, 2023, ordered that the “status quo be maintained pending inter-parties hearing” on September 13, 2023.
