Businessman Jimi Wanjigi is one of the special guests who attended the United Democratic Alliance’s National Delegates Convention at the Kasarani gymnasium on Tuesday, March 15.

Wanjigi, a former ODM presidential candidate, showed up at the event where Deputy President William Ruto was nominated to be UDA’s presidential candidate in the August election, weeks after a bitter fall out with ODM party leader Raila Odinga.

Wanjigi arrived at the event minutes past noon in the company of Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria.

Speaking to the press, Wanjigi said that he attended the UDA’s NDC because of the cordial relationship he shares with the party.

The Safina presidential candidate, however, refuted reports that he would support Ruto’s presidential candidature in the coming elections.

Hakuna muungano, ni urafiki tu (We are not talking about coalitions, I am here because of friendship),” he said.

Other leaders who are in attendance include former Agriculture CS Mwangi Kiunjuri, former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo, Musalia Mudavadi (ANC), and Moses Wetangula (Ford Kenya).
