Kikuyu Member of Parliament (MP) Kimani Ichungw’ah has hit out at Wiper Patriotic Front Leader Kalonzo Musyoka over his development record during tenure as a Member of Parliament.

Speaking during an empowerment forum in Tharaka Nithi County on Saturday, October 11, 2025, the National Assembly Majority Leader castigated Kalonzo for achieving nothing during his close to forty-year spell as the MP for Mwingi North.

Also Watch: MP James Gakuya: Ichungwah’s statements are very incisive. He ought to exercise wisdom in his words.

Ichung’wah took issue with Kalonzo’s recent sentiments regarding the various development projects being undertaken by the Kenya Kwanza government in Ukambani ahead of the Mashujaa Day celebrations in October 20, 2025.

” I heard Kalonzo saying that since the government has been undertaking development projects in Kitui County, he claims that development is the right of every citizen.”

“It is true as he claims, and it’s also the role of every leader to ensure his people get development projects,” he stated.

“So I would ask him, you have been MP for almost 40 years and also a vice president, is it now that you have realised people’s right to development? He posed.

Also Watch: “Kimani Ichung’wah seems to know who is abducting Kenyans,” Kalonzo.

Vouching for Kindiki

Ichungw’ah stressed that the government will continue with the projects undeterred, urging the deputy president, Kithure Kindiki, to continue with his developmental outreach.

“I want to urge Kindiki to continue with his projects in the whole of Kenya. You have demonstrated you are a good leader capable of uniting people, and I implore you to continue with the work,” he added.

Ichungw’ah sentiments come as the United Opposition pitched camp in Mount Kenya region following a visit to Ukambani last weekend, where they were hosted by Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

The coalition toured parts of Embu on Saturday, October 11, 2025, before proceeding to Kirinyaga County.

In Embu, the team campaigned for the Democratic Party candidate contesting the Mbeere North by-election, a seat left vacant after Geoffrey Ruku joined the Cabinet to replace his former party leader, Justin Muturi.
