Gachagua’s announcement
This comes days after Gachagua himself announced that he would spend his Valentine’s Day with members of the Maa community.
He also added that during the event, Ole Kamwaro will receive special prayers following his appointment as the secretary general of the DCP party.
Gachagua stated that more than 20,000 Maa residents are expected to attend the event, which will also celebrate Maa culture through traditional foods and attire. He added that several Members of Parliament aligned with him have expressed interest in attending the high-profile gathering, which will be held at Ole Kamwaro’s home.
“Hiosiku ya valentine, tarehe 14, nataka kusherekea siku hiyo na Wamasai; nitakuwa pale Melil Ward, nyumbani kwa Opru Kamwaro. Tuko na sherehe kubwa ya kusherekea uteuzi wake kama katibu mkuu wa DCP; tutakuwa pale na Wamasai karibu 20,000 tukiwa na sherehe kubwa ya maombi,” Gachagua stated.
Endorsing Ole Kamwaro

This comes days after he endorsed Ole Kamwaro and Ole Kenta for the Narok North parliamentary seat and county gubernatorial seats, respectively, in 2027. During his visit to Narok town for a united opposition rally in June 2025.
Gachagua noted that Kamwaro lost by a small margin to someone he had personally supported in the past, but now that Kamwaro has his full backing, he believes victory will come easily.
“Mimi Naona watu wa Narok ndio turidishe mashamba yenu; nataka mnipatie wanaume Kamili kama mimi. Mtanipatia, huyu Ole Kamwaro ndio alirudisha Shambala ya Mau, sindio? Lakini last time hakupata kwa sababu hakuwa na kura ya jamii yangu. Ole Kamwaro anatosha hatoshi,” Gachagua added.
Gachagua concluded by saying that with leaders like Ole Kenta and Ole Kamwaro, he will join forces with them to ensure that all the land belonging to the Maa people is returned.
“Huyu kenta na ole kamwaro tukishikane na yeye mashamba ya wamasai itarudi,”
