President William Ruto’s aide, Farouk Kibet, has called on newly elected Malava MP David Ndakwa to serve all residents of the constituency without bias.

Speaking on Friday, November 28, 2025, Kibet emphasised that public service requires impartiality, highlighting that every resident of Malava, whether they supported Ndakwa or not, deserves fair treatment and attention.

He stressed that the focus should now shift from political divisions and celebrations of victory to gratitude and responsible governance, encouraging the MP to create an environment where every community member feels valued and represented.

“Do not be biased, lead everyone regardless of who voted for you. It’s God’s plan that you were elected. Mtoto ambaye hakupata bursary na akavote Seth Panyako ni mtoto wa Malava. Leo si siku ya kutusi na kupiga kifua, leo ni siku ya kushukuru mungu. Ita watu wote wakuje.”

Ndakwa’s win

This comes a day after Malava Constituency held a by-election on Thursday, November 27, 2025, following the untimely death of MP Malulu Injendi in August 2025. United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate David Ndakwa emerged victorious in the race.

Ndakwa garnered 21,564 votes, narrowly defeating DAP-K’s Seth Panyako, who received 20,210 votes, giving Ndakwa a slim margin of 1,354 votes. Other candidates included Wilberforce Tuvei of Kenya Moja with 752 votes, Shivakale Bruce Jason with 390 votes, George Ngaira with 257 votes, Shinachi Angatia with 242 votes, Benjamin Nalwa with 215 votes, and Edgar Busiega with 208 votes.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Returning Officer, Abdalla Salim, officially announced Ndakwa as the winner at the Malava tallying centre on Friday morning.

“I now declare David Athman Ndakwa officially has been elected the official MP of Malava constituency, kindly come forward and pick your certificate,” he said.

“Nataka kushukuru mwenyezi Mungu kwa haya yote, tumekua kwa campaign baada ya kumpoteza mjumbe wetu Malulu, Mungu aiweke roho yake mahali pema peponi.”

He also acknowledged the support of President William Ruto and the UDA party.

“Mimi nashukuru party leader wangu president William Ruto kwa kunipa nafasi kwa chama chake niwe mgombea wa kiti, nashukuru watu wa Malava kwa kunichagua niongoze.”
