‘Stop invoking Raila’s name in your politics’- Etale tells off Wamuchomba
Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) communications director Philip Etale has told Githunguri Member of Parliament Gathoni Wamuchomba to stop invoking the Orange party leader Raila Odinga's name in her politics.
Etale, who was responding to Wamuchomba's recent comments on the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) report, said the former Kiambu Woman Representative should try to be different in her way of politicking.
According to Etale, Wamuchomba is trying the style of politics that several politicians from the Mount Kenya region have used. 
"Madam Team Ground AKA Gathoni Wamuchomba, you will not manage to build an empire by invoking Raila Odinga's name in your politics. You don’t build a house using saliva. Try to be different from those who came before you," Etale's statement reads in part.
The ODM communication boss further tells Wamuchomba that the days of using Raila's name to win the hearts of Mount Kenya votes are gone.
"Be natural. Be authentic. Be factually honest and you will succeed. Days of using Raila’s name to endear to the masses in the mountain are over. You will thank me later," Etale said.

Wamuchomba's remarks
Etale's remarks follow Wamuchomba's recent remarks that there will be a cabinet reshuffle aimed at creating room to accommodate Raila's close allies, should the MPs pass the NADCO report.
The MP who recently spoke in an interview with a local TV station said the report will have causalities once it is passed as it is.
Raila's opposition side had requested that the report be passed without any amendments.
However, President William Ruto's side is seeking to have some sections of the report amended.
National Assembly’s Justice and Legal Affairs Committee (JLAC) in April 2024 tabled a report in Parliament proposing amendments to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries (Amendment) Bill, 2024.
The Bill is among the proposed legislation that accompanied the NADCO report negotiated between President Ruto and Raila’s teams.
Azimio argued the document is negotiated and should be ringfenced from any amendments by legislators.
But the JLAC, in its report, defended the decision to amend the report, citing the Speaker’s directive.
JLAC chairman George Murugara said their decision to alter sections of the proposal is within the law.
