The Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP), led by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, has engaged with a delegation of leaders from Siaya County as part of efforts to strengthen the party’s presence in the region.

In a post shared by the party on its social media pages, on Friday, February 13, 2026, the delegation, headed by Achieng Otieno Linet, a DCP aspirant for Siaya Woman Representative, visited the party’s headquarters.

The meeting was facilitated by DCP Secretary General Hezron Obaga.

“This afternoon, DCP Secretary General Hezron Obaga hosted a delegation of leaders from Siaya County, led by Hon. Achieng Otieno Linet, DCP Aspirant for Woman Representative in Siaya County, at the Party HQs,” DCP said.

Discussions

The discussions focused on structured grassroots mobilisation, strategies to reinforce DCP’s footprint in Siaya, and the advancement of a leadership agenda centred on citizen participation.

SG Obaga described the engagement as a key step in consolidating DCP’s influence locally while expanding its national reach.

The visit by the Siaya delegation, which hails from a region where the majority of their leaders are opposed to the former deputy president and his DCP party, now appears to position the party as a national party. An image that the party leader has been fighting hard for his party to achieve

The party appears to have had an eventful day. Elsewhere, the party leader Rigathi Gachagua personally welcomed Elijah Njagi Ireri from Runyenjes, Embu County, who is seeking the parliamentary seat for the area on the DCP ticket.

Gachagua’s Valentine itinerary

This comes a day before the much-awaited visit by Gachagua to the Maa region, where he will be spending his Valentine’s Day with the Maa locals at a high-level event, which will be held at the home of Narok North MP aspirant Martin Ole Kamwaro on a DCP ticket
