Caleb Amisi visits Senator Ososti moments after clearing the air on his attack

The Saboti Constituency Member of Parliament, Caleb Amisi, has visited the Vihiga Senator, Godfrey Osotsi, following a recent attack in Kisumu County, which left him nursing injuries.

In a statement on his Official X account on Thursday, April 9, 2026, Amisi, while wishing him a quick recovery, described the importance of Osost’s voice and leadership amid the chaos witnessed on Wednesday, April 8, 2026.

“Wishing Sen. Godfrey Osotsi a quick and full recovery. Stay strong. Your voice and leadership are needed now more than ever,” Amisi said.

Meanwhile, shortly after Caleb Amisi dismissed the narrative circulating that links the attack on Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi in Kisumu to a love affair.

Caleb Amisi debunked the claims, questioning whether the Linda Mwananchi tour they held in Kakamega, where, according to them, goons were also present at Kisumu Airport and wanted to attack them, forcing them to seek alternative routes, was also a love affair.

“And to those who are trying to single out the attack on Godfrey Osotsi as a love affair, I see some sponsorship across social media attempting to portray it that way. When these goons were paraded at Kisumu Airport, the entire airport was full of them during the Linda Mwananchi tour. What love affair was there?”

Ososti’s attack

According to Derick Luvega, Director of Communication at the Vihiga Senate Office, Osotsi had made a routine visit to the Acacia area to get a haircut before proceeding to Java restaurant, where he met a friend and also interacted with members of the public.

Shortly after, a group of gun-wielding individuals is said to have confronted him, questioning him over his political allegiance.

Owing to his support for the ‘one-term’ movement as an affiliate of the Linda Mwananchi faction, the goons reportedly assaulted the Senator.

Luvega indicated that Osotsi’s security detail exercised restraint to avoid discharging firearms in public and hurting innocent lives in the process.

“We strongly condemn this barbaric and cowardly act, which appears to have been premeditated and orchestrated,” the statement read in part.

“It is important to emphasise that this isolated incident should not, in any way, be used to tarnish the image of the people of Kisumu, who have consistently demonstrated warmth and hospitality, as evidenced by the Senator’s free movement and interactions prior to the attack.”
