Bobi Wine claims Ugandan soldiers raided his home and vandalised property
By Cynthia Lodite, February 3, 2026Uganda’s opposition leader, Bobi Wine, has revealed that the Ugandan military attacked his home.
Talking to his official X account on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, Bobi Wine issued an update on the attack, which he described as having happened the night of Monday, February 2, 2026.
On his part, Bobi Wine explained how the military surrounded his Magere home, forcing themselves into his house.
“Last night, the military surrounding our home in Magere once again forced themselves into the house. They’re now fully occupying our entire home – INSIDE, outside, and around it,” Bobi Wine said.
House vandalised
According to Wine, the officers vandalised his house, and he is unable to assess the extent of the destruction caused by the officers.
“We are still unable to assess the extent of the destruction caused to the house when they first broke it and vandalised it on 23rd January,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Wine has confirmed that his family members have been locked out of their house, hence unable to take stock of items and documents the armed men seized from the house.
“Neither have we been able to take stock of what items and documents the armed men seized from the house, since none of our family members has ever been allowed to access it since the attack happened,” he added.

Bobi Wine speaks on whereabouts
The attack came out just days after he revealed that his home had seen visitors question his whereabouts while clearing the air on when he plans on showing up from his hideout.
Taking to his official X account on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, Bobi Wine, who lost to incumbent President Yoweri Museveni in the recently concluded polls, revealed that operative officers stormed his Busabala home while trying to lure one of his staff to notify them of his whereabouts.
“Operatives went to Busabala. Asked staff if I had been there. Tried to compromise one to tip them off if I come around,” Bobi Wine added.
According to Bobi Wine, an aerial drone has been hovering over his home, mostly during the night.
While dismissing thoughts that he could be in his Busabala home, Wine has maintained that he will only show up when it is appropriate.
“There was an aerial drone hovering over the night before. I advise them not to waste time on these futile exercises. I will reappear at an appropriate time,” Bobi said.
