Azimio has not raised any election rigging concerns – Ndiritu Murithi
By evans.maritim, March 23, 2022Laikipia Governor Ndiritu Muriithi now says his Azimio la Umoja Movement has not raised any concerns about a possible rigging of the August 9 presidential election.
Speaking on a local television station on Tuesday, Muriithi said their competitors are now “panicking” and going all over the country and beyond alleging that the election will be rigged.
“When you leave your house (Kenya) and move to another house (another country) and castigate your own house saying its dirty and you’re the one who should repair it, then you’re not helping,” Muriithi said in reference to Deputy President William Ruto’s recent trip to US and UK.
He further said he Azimio was focused on strengthening Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to hold a credible poll on August 9.
“We are not concerned about election rigging but we are on record saying we should develop stronger institutions,” he added.
Muriithi stated that electoral integrity is not just a political matter.
“We lost about Ksh500 billion in every election circle that is why we must ensure elections are chaos free,” he said.
