Aloise Kinyanjui fires back at his brother Moses Kuria over claims DCP MPs will be bought
By Kenneth Mwenda, March 21, 2026Moses Kuria’s brother, Aloise Kinyanjui, has hit back at the former Cabinet Secretary over claims that MPs elected on the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) ticket will be bought by the government.
Speaking during a political rally in Githunguri, Kiambu County, on Saturday, March 21, 2026, Kinyanjui addressed Kuria directly, mixing criticism with humour as he defended the party’s position in the Mount Kenya region.
“Niko na jambo moja, huyo mwanaume mmeskia anaitwa Moses Kuria, leo nataka kumwongelesha kwa sababu ni mtoto wa mama yangu,” he told the crowd.
Kinyanjui referred to Kuria as family but questioned his recent remarks. He said Kuria had claimed that DCP would sweep parliamentary seats in the region, then went further to suggest that those MPs would later be bought.
“Juzi alisema DCP itafagia viti zote za MP Mt Kenya. Ni kweli si kweli? Alipata hakupata?” he posed.
He added that while the family respects Kuria, they could not ignore what he described as misleading claims.
“Kwa sababu ni mtoto wetu, ni mtoto wa mama yangu tunamuwekea tick. Lakini akaongezea jambo mbaya,” he said.

Kinyanjui mocks Kuria claims
Kinyanjui then dismissed the suggestion that DCP MPs could be compromised, turning the moment into a sharp but playful jab.
“Tunamweleza hivi alisema ati MP wa DCP atawanunua wote. Tunamwambia labda anunue bibi,” he said, drawing laughter from the crowd.
“Na mnajua nini Githunguri? Huyo jamaa yetu ametoa bibi hapa. Na asipotoa, akitaka kuoa bibi tutaleta Riggy G amsaidie kuoa,” Kinyanjui added.
His remarks appeared to mock Kuria while also alluding to cultural practices where elders lead marriage negotiations. His own traditional marriage ceremony recently had attracted attention after former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua attended.

Kinyanjui did not stop there. He used a football analogy to send a political message, suggesting that the DCP camp is well organised and ready for a contest.
“Na tumwambie hivi, kama alipata kazi ya striker huko kwa Kasongo, atapata winger na defence hapa. Na sisi ndio jeshi ya Riggy G,” he said.
The comments come days after DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua criticised Kuria over the same issue. Gachagua had earlier dismissed claims that DCP MPs could be bought, arguing that the current administration would not be in power long enough to do so.
During the same rally in Githunguri, Gachagua also intensified his attacks on President William Ruto, saying the head of state is heading for defeat in the 2027 general election.
“Nimeona Kasongo akijaribu kuhijack hiyo slogan ya Gen Z, Niko Kadi. Kasongo, wacha nikuambie, wewe uko na kadi lakini yako ni red card. Red card ya kwenda nyumbani,” Gachagua said.
Earlier, Gachagua had dismissed Moses Kuria’s remarks that DCP MPs will be bought after the 2027 contest.
