Gusii Stadium to host Shabana FC’s homecoming action after major upgrade

Gusii Stadium is ready to host matches after being shut down for renovations to comply with the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) standards.

Shabana FC secretary general Elizaphan Kerama confirmed that the stadium is now in shape to host the club’s home matches.

“Matches for the 2024/25 season will be played at Gusii Stadium,” Kerama told journalists after leading a team to inspect the stadium.

Flanked by Deputy Governor Elijah Obebo and Sports and Culture Executive Committee Member Eric Ongeri, Kerama added that the stadium is prepared to host both friendly and international matches.

Similarly, he commended fans for their patience while the club played its home matches at Homabay Stadium.

Kerama announced that a match between Shabana and Ulinzi Stars, originally scheduled for Meru Stadium next Sunday, has been moved to Ulinzi Complex in Nairobi.

“Our players are well-prepared to start the season on a high note,” Kerama stated.

The secretary general also revealed that SportPesa will sponsor the club for the next three years after Bangbet’s one-year sponsorship ended.

He added, “We aim to grow and nurture talent.
