Four suspects including an Administration Police (AP) officer were on February 29 shot dead at Santack estate Kilimani where they had detained a Chinese national they had earlier kidnapped.
The four kidnappers had on Thursday evening stormed Chinese Centre posing as detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters.
The suspects drove in a black Toyota Prado registration number KCT 118C at around 5pm and entered the shop owned by Gao Yuan Hong where they arrested and drove away with him.
They later started calling his brother demanding a USD1million (Sh100 million) ransom.
Chairperson of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce William Zituo reported the matter and sleuths launched investigations.
On Friday, the gang was in Kiambu but later went off the detectives’ radar.
On Saturday at around 1pm, detectives from the Special Services Unit(formely flying squad), DCI Kilimani and Criminal Intelligence Bureau tracked the gang to Santack estate, house number 2199, where the Chinese was also held.
The detectives shot the four dead and recovered a police firearm, serial number KPBDF6260 loaded with three rounds of ammunition and another six rounds wrapped in a white tissue paper.
They also recovered a Nissan Tiida registration number KCW 731L, police pocket phone (radio), and an Administration Police Service staff ID belonging to the deceased officer.
The AP officer, Service number 238320, has been identified as Constable Kennedy Kituma Kiamba.
