FKF Premier League side Ulinzi Stars have appointed Bernard Mwalala as the club’s new head coach ahead of the new season.

Mwalala joins the Langata based  military side at the back of a near successful previous season where he almost led Kakamega Homeboyz to the league title.

The former Harambee Stars forward his and entire technical bench were fired at the end of the season in July on ‘disciplinary grounds,’ by Homeboyz owner Cleophas Shimanyula.

He would however refute the claims, saying he learned of his sacking through the media and that they had personal differences which led to the decision.

Mwalala, a former Nzoia Sugar and Bandari FC boss takes a reputable CV to the Soldiers camp and his task will be to push his new side to a far better position than the 13th they managed last season.

He will be assisted by Khamisi Abdalla Mohammed and Vincent Otieno who was appointed the interim coach following the sacking of Benjamin Nyangweso.
