Ford-Kenya Secretary General Eseli Simiyu has said the party’s National Delegates Congress (NDC) will go on as scheduled at the Bomas of Kenya on November 21.
While speaking to the People Daily on Friday, Eseli dismissed Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula’s frantic efforts to invalidate the notice to hold the Bomas meeting saying the senator stood sacked as party leader.
Wetangula’s faction is fighting tooth and nail to wrestle control of the party which had been taken over by the Tongaren MP and his Kanduyi counterpart Wafula Wamunyinyi who was named the party leader.
“The former party leader cannot invalidate the NDC scheduled for 21st November at Bomas. It is all systems go with delegates from all 47 branches having confirmed attendance. So any assertion that the meeting wont take place is an open dream from the other end,” said Eseli.
He asked all Ford-Kenya members to ignore the former party leader whom he said had duly been removed from the helm of the party, adding that the 21st NDC will be ushering in new leadership.
Kanduyi legislator Wafula Wamunyinyi who was named party leader by the Eseli Simiyu group said Wetangula ceased to be party leader and accused him for giving roadside statements while knowing the party had been taken “back to it’s rightful owners”.
