After humiliating Kakamega Homeboyz 2-0 in a midweek Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) match, Gor Mahia will be looking to register its second win in a bounce when they face the newly promoted side Mara Sugar.

K’Ogalo who had been in the trenches before tossing Kakamega Homeboyz will be looking to get maximum points in an early kick-off match set to be played at Raila Odinga Stadium, Homa Bay County on Saturday, November 30, 2024.

According to FKF Premier League fixtures, the crucial match is set to start at 2:00 pm.

The 21-time champions head into the game well aware of Mara Sugar’s impressive record so far since their promotion to the top-flight league. The Kajiado-based side is one of the four teams to have conceded the fewest goals in the division.

The George Midenyo-coached side has lost twice and recorded four wins. The result mixed with several draws has pushed Mara Sugar to 16 points, four behind league leaders KCB.

So far, they have managed to snatch a point from AFC Leopards and they will be keen to stick despite not boosting big names and take the game to Gor Mahia in the Saturday clash.

However, Midenyo’s charges head into the encounter while wounded following their 2-1 midweek defeat against the resurging side, Tusker FC.

Gor Mahia on the other side had gone four matches without registering a win, an outcome that led to unrest and the eventual firing of Brazilian manager Leonardo Neiva.

The team is now under the guidance of Zedekiah Otieno who believes that the midweek win against Kakamega Homeboyz was a morale booster that will catapult K’Ogalo to more victories as they chase another gong.

Other matches

In other FKFPL matches, FC Talanta will square it out with Posta Rangers. Both teams sit at the bottom of the league standings and a win from either side would pull them out of the relegation zone.

The match will be played at Machakos Stadium from 1:00 pm.

Elsewhere, League leaders KCB would be looking to open up the gap at the top with seven points when they face Bidco United at the Sportpesa Arena from 3:00 pm.

The final clash of the day will face Nairobi City Stars welcome Bandari at Machakos Stadium at 4:00 pm.

On Sunday, December 1, 2024, the biggest FKFPL tie will see AFC Leopards lock horns with Police FC who have appointed a new coach, Etienne Ndayiragije.

The Burundian gaffer has replaced Salim Babu and Anthony Kimani in the dugout.

Etienne Ndayiragije will be tasked with stabilising the side which has so far recorded mixed results in their recent outings. Police FC currently sit 15th in the log with eight points.
