Harambee Stars fullback Erick Ouma opened his scoring account for Raków Częstochowa in their emphatic 5-1 victory over Zagłębie Lubin in an Ekstraklasa match played on Sunday.

The goal marked Ouma’s first in his 20th appearance for Raków since joining the Polish side from Swedish club AIK in January this year. The win moved Raków up to third place in the league standings.

Erick Ouma’s side start

Raków came out strong from the start, and after just ten minutes, they took the lead. A well-executed play saw Gustav Berggren set up Vladyslav Kochergin, who confidently slotted the ball past Zagłębie’s goalkeeper Dominik Hładun from close range.

Zagłębie Lubin responded in the 33rd minute with a stunning long-range strike from Marek Mróz, bringing the score to 1-1.

Raków regained control in the second half, and in the 53rd minute, Michael Ameyaw broke down the left flank, delivering a pass into the box. Vladyslav Kochergin cleverly let the ball through, allowing Jonatan Brunes to finish the move and restore Raków’s lead.

Zagłębie tried to respond with set pieces, but it was Raków who found the back of the net again. In the 81st minute, Berggren extended the lead with a goal, assisted by Patryk Makuch. Just three minutes later, Erick Ouma got on the scoresheet, scoring his first goal for Raków with a powerful strike inside the box to make it 4-1.

Berggren then completed the rout in the closing minutes, sealing the 5-1 victory with a close-range finish.
