Edwin Sifuna wins Nairobi senator race

ODM Party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna has been declared the Nairobi senator-elect.

According to the county’s returning officer, Sifuna garnered 716,651 votes, against his main competitor, Bishop Margaret Wanjiru of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA)

Wanjiru amassed a total of 524,091 votes.

Sifuna takes over from Johnson Sakaja who is inches away from clinching Nairobi’s top job.

Speaking after his victory, Sifuna promised to honour his promises and deliver to all Nairobians.

“I want to say thanks to God we have had peaceful campaigns. I thank all of you Nairobian for honouring you with this position, you know my work, and my capacity, I want to assure you that I will serve you diligently.”

Adding;

” I would also like to acknowledge team Sifuna, my family and my party, I’m glad that the Nairobi senator position is ‘Blue.”
