Former World Cross Country champion Irene Cheptai hopes she will be a star attraction at Prague 10km road race slated for 3rd September.
The Iten-based runner has embarked on training to sap the streets of Czeck Republic come next month.
Cheptai noted that her preparation is going on well though she has not recovered well after clinching a silver medal in the just concluded Commonwealth Games.
She came second in the 10,000m race in Birmingham after she was outsprinted by Eilish McColgan from Scotland who won gold at the last kick of the race.
Cheptai said that her body is responding well to the training though not as per her expectation.
“My body is responding well to the training, but am still not yet there. I hope by the time we approach the competition I will be ready,” she said.
She added: “I know the race will be very competitive but am preparing myself for the race, I believe in myself that I will do well.”
She has a personal best time of 30.35 in 10km.
Cheptai has been consistent in both track and Cross Country races on local and international events.
