Coronavirus: Ministry confirms 23 more cases, now at 672

Health Ministry Chief Administrative Secretary on Sunday confirmed 23 more coronavirus cases, the total cases in the country are 672.

Health CAS Rashid Aman said 23 of the cases were Kenyans and one foreigner.

Mr. Rashid also announced the highest number of discharges, 32 which brought the total recoveries to 239.

Yesterday, the State announced to ban street hawking to combat coronavirus.

Health Ministry Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Rashid Aman said that community transmissions had also risen and proven the most challenging in the containment of coronavirus in the country.

While confirming 28 more Covid-19 cases on May 9, Mr. Rashid said transmission within the estates is the biggest threat in the fight against Covid-19.

“Community transmission is the most challenging to contain. All our efforts are aimed at containing that spread. Let us continue to observe the measures in place so that we can flatten our curve,” said Mr. Rashid.

To contain the spread, Mr. Rashid announced the government’s plan to ban hawking, any public gathering, and closure of malls.
