Co-op Bank donates Sh100M towards Covid-19 Emergency Response Fund

Co-operative Bank of Kenya on Monday offered a donation of Sh100 million to support efforts to combat Covid-19 in Kenya.

The contribution will be given to the Covid-19 Emergency Response Fund formed by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The funds will be used to purchase ventilators which are considered crucial in the treatment of Covid-19.

“We appreciate the gallant efforts of H.E the President in leading from the front and rallying the country to come together as one in this fight.

“The appointment of the Covid-19 Emergency Response Fund Committee to mobilise resources for the fight gives all Kenyans and indeed the entire community of goodwill the opportunity to offer their much needed support.

“The Board of Directors and staff of Co-op Bank is honored to support with a key cash contribution of Ksh100 million, preferably to be allocated towards purchase of critical ventilators,” Group Managing Director Dr. Gideon Muruki said in a statement.

The bank further urged other organizations and other Kenyans to come to come together in support of efforts to combat the spread of the deadly virus.
