Nairobi City Stars‘ midfielder Andrew Kisilu is setting his sights on a return to action for the team’s final three matches of the season in June 2024.

Kisilu, a key figure in the squad for the first 22 games until his injury setback in mid-February, has been undergoing rehabilitation to regain fitness.

City Stars return

With a break of around a month scheduled after the 31st round of games on May 19, Kisilu is hopeful that he will be fit to join his teammates for the crucial final fixtures of the season.

“I have been undergoing rehab for the injury suffered back in February,” he told City Stars media.

“We will have a recess of close to a month after round 31 of games (19 May) and I believe, given the progression, and God willing, that I should be available for the last three games of the season,” he added.

He is targeting a comeback for the matches against Homeboyz, Sofapaka, and KCB, all slated to take place within a week starting June 15, 2024.

Kisilu’s last appearance was against Gor Mahia in Machakos, marking his 51st top-flight match. In the ongoing season, he has contributed a goal and two progressive passes while accumulating 787 regular game minutes.

Meanwhile, Nairobi City Stars are eager to return to winning ways following a recent draw. In their latest encounter against Ulinzi Stars, City Stars fought back from an early deficit, with Vincent Owino scoring the equalizer in the 71st minute after Boniface Muchiri had given Ulinzi the lead in the 23rd minute.

City Stars fourth

The draw saw Nairobi City Stars currently occupying fourth place on the log with 46 points from 28 matches, comprising 13 wins, seven draws, and eight losses.
