Defending champions Kenya Prisons will face Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) in the semifinals of the Kenya Volleyball Federation National League playoffs to be held at the Moi International Sports Center indoor arena, Kasarani.

Prisons had earlier shown intent as they eased past Administration Police of Kenya (APK) 3-0 in their opening two quarter-final matches while KPA had to launch a comeback to win 3-2 against Trailblazers who had won the opening fixture.

The second semifinal pits former champions General Service Unit(GSU) against the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF). KDF, who were keen to amend mistakes from last season where they missed out on the playoffs defeated Kenya Forest Service (KFS) 3-2 (23-25, 21-25, 25-21, 26-24, and 16-14) on Saturday to secure the first semifinal berth in the men’s category. GSU confirmed qualification after defeating an immensely improved Equity Bank won 1-3 (25-22, 26-28, 18-25, 19-25).

The defending champions, the KCB Women’s volleyball team, will face the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), while past champions Kenya Pipeline and Kenya Prisons will clash in the other semi-final.

KCB overcame Kenya Army in the last round of the series in a fourth-set thriller match with 3-1 set victories while DCI had to rally from behind to defeat Nairobi Prisons 3-1.
