“We congratulate Kenya Airways on this achievement of being named as the Best Airline Staff Service in Africa at the 2024 World Airline Awards. This service and hospitality accolade should be a source of pride for the management and staff of Kenya Airways.”

The World Airline Awards are renowned as the Oscars of the aviation industry.

Kivaluka feted

On May 24, 2024, Kenya Airways CEO Allan Kilavuka was honoured with the 2024 African Aviation Leadership Award.

Nick Fadugba FRAeS, CEO of African Aviation, praised Kilavuka's remarkable leadership, stating, “This award highlights Allan's exceptional leadership, visionary approach, and dedication to advancing the aviation industry across the continent. His innovative strategies and commitment to excellence have set new benchmarks in the industry, inspiring peers and driving significant progress.”

Expressing his appreciation, Kilavuka said, “I am deeply honoured to receive the prestigious African Aviation Leadership Award. This accolade reflects the dedication and passion of the entire Kenya Airways team. It highlights our commitment to excellence, innovation, and enhancing connectivity across our continent.”

The awards come at a time when Kenya Airways is trying to shade off claims that it is among the most costly airlines to use. President William Ruto raised the discussion after stating that Kenya Airways quoted a higher air ticket forcing him to seek a friend's help for his US State Visit.

Although Kenya Airways did not debunk the claims, Ruto's claims portrayed the national carrier as a costly airline.
