Burial of the late retired judge Justice Daniel Aganyanya has been set for February 1 at his rural home in Kisasi village, Vihiga County.

The ex-judge’s daughter, Caroline Aganyanya, told People Daily on Wednesday that burial preparations are ongoing and memorial mass will be held on January 29 at Citam Valley road church  in Nairobi.

“We will have a requem mass in Nairobi on January 29 then remove the body the following day as we have another service at his local church Musukhura,” she said adding that the main send off ceremony will be held at Imusubzu Salvation Army church from 10:00am.

The deceased died at the Aga Khan Hospital in Kisumu last  Friday (January 17) moments after he developed breathing complications.

He suffered two heart attacks before he succumbed when the doctors were attempting to resuscitate him.

Justice Aganyanya, who served in the Judiciary for 38 years with his highest posting being a judge of the Court of Appeal, retired in 2012.
