Uhuru said the duo would continue with the projects initiated by his government.

It was the second time in recent days the President openly campaigned for his preferred successor.

Security challenges

Uhuru, who is on a tour of Laikipia and Samburu counties, praised Raila, saying he has the interests of the nation at heart.

He said Raila’s presidency would ensure peace in the region which has been experiencing security challenges for years.

During the tour, the President commissioned the construction of the second phase of Rumuruti -Maralal Road which will be constructed at a cost of Sh70 billion.

He also promised to issue title deeds to residents, who he warned against subdividing and selling the land once they get the ownership documents.
