Ruto will work with counties, says Badilisha after meeting
Nyandarua Governor Moses Kiarie Badilisha (below) yesterday disclosed details of what was discussed between the County’s elected leaders and President Elect William Ruto.Badilisha said among the issues discussed was funding of three incomplete multi-billion-shilling mega dams: Kinja, Pesi and Malewa, that were promised by the outgoing Jubilee administration.“He (Ruto) indicated that he has already instructed the National Treasury to put in motion all necessary processes to actualise this,” the Governor said in a social media post.
Economic forums
Badilisha said the leaders appealed to the national government to ensure the outstanding 25 milk coolers out of 60 promised by the government, two years ago, are delivered to the County. He said challenges affecting the County, which were given during the grassroots Economic Forums organised in counties by the incoming ruling party prior to the General Election, were revisited during the meeting between the leaders and the President-Elect at his Karen home on Tuesday. “A framework for the County to overcome the challenges was agreed upon,” he said. Badilisha stated that the meeting, also attended by Deputy Presssident- Elect Rigathi Gachagua, agreed on the establishment of a collaborative development framework between the administrations and the State.
